Hi all,
Please find below a copy of Community Hubs in Disasters.
This is a document I’ve created with the aim of providing support and information to staff and volunteers working in community-led venues during times of disaster.
Depending on the specifics of your organisation or venue, some parts of the attached may be of more relevance than others, but I’ve tried to include information that will be useful to organisations of all sizes and levels of experience in operating in disasters such as severe weather events.
I’m very mindful that everyone here holds their own unique insight into this subject matter, so if you have any feedback on the attached or suggested input for its next iteration (I’m sure there’ll be a version 2.0!) then I’d be grateful to hear it.
This guide will ultimately form part of the online repository I’m working on for community groups and services to access shareable materials and resources, as discussed at the discussion forum on 18 December.
I will be in touch again very soon regarding additional resources and the calendar of training opportunities for 2026.
As always, if you know of any other community-led organisations with an interest in this space that may wish to be involved, please let me know.
Best regards,
Harry Crawford
